self portraits

They were taking pictures with the camera the other day - nice, right? I think that Eric took both of these pictures. I'm guessing that he had the same expression while he was taking Sarah's picture as he did in the one of himself. Focused and goofy at the same time - who knew it was possible? As for Sarah, the fact that it was Halloween may have played into her lovely look, or it didn't.

Sarah's Flowers

In terms of a subject, you can't really go wrong with flowers, can you? But still. Maybe being five years old and three feet tall has its advantages. You don't have a choice but to be close to the ground. And you don't have a choice but to look up. Both of these perspectives make interesting photos, don't you think? Stopping to smell the flowers (and to take many, many pictures of them) isn't something that you have to think about when you're five. You just do it. (By the way, there were A LOT of blurry ones, too. But, since I'm the one compiling them, I get to choose which ones I want to show off!)

NC Botanical Garden

Brian had the camera when we went to the garden last weekend, and he captured some great moments . . .

Writing notes to the fairies

and mailing them.

Digging in the dirt

and spreading seeds.

Racing around the "track"

and catching her breath.

Peeking through the hole in the wood

and looking from another perspective.

Oh yeah, and the natural beauty too.

Perspective

Sarah took pictures with the camera yesterday, and while some are blurry and hard to recognize, others are kind of interesting, and (dare I say) good. She took a picture of the oak tree and it's an angle I certainly wouldn't have seen, let alone try to photograph. Along with other plants, she took a couple of pictures of me. One is more flattering than the other, I guess . . . Just my middle, really? Couldn't it have been a leg or arm? Of course, the one she was most excited to see was the "hair one." Like I said, some don't make a lot of sense, but she loved it.
